Water in Our World

Water in Our World” is UNC’s campus-wide, two-year academic theme that launched on March 22, 2012 (World Water Day). From March 2012 to March 2014, Carolina will draw upon faculty expertise to mobilize around water. Key issues will include ensuring water is available to, and safe for, people around the world. UNC experts say the demand for water will intensify as the world’s population tops 9 billion by mid-century.

Water touches all of us in many ways, from public health and climate to culture and recreation. And over the years, Endeavors has explored water many times. Below is a collection of Endeavors stories that touch upon this increasingly important resource.
